In just a matter of weeks this little guy grew up! He is still just a little squirt, loves to cuddle, and is only 11 months, but wow he is getting big. His personality is awesome. He loves everyone. He may not want them to touch him, but he gives a smile and wave from a safe distance (his mothers arms).
He crawls around the house like a man on a mission. He chases the boys and says "tiggle, tiggle" which is the sweetest coolest best thing ever. He has become a master of the stairs. He only goes up for now, but he books it!
He loves anything with wheels. He pushes things all over the house and makes the cutest "truck sound" while he is doing it. Which brings me to the fact that he is turning into a daddy's boy. When Tyler leaves he gets great big waves and lots of loud jabbers which translate into "bye bye daddy love you so much". It could melt even the coldest of hearts.
He has two teeth. One that is noticeable now and one that just cut through a few weeks ago. This tooth was a bit harder on us. I think he was also fighting something but we ran fevers and all the nasty that usually comes with it. We did our first ER visit with some breathing concerns and finally with some stout meds he is back to his bright self.
He got his first good bump on the head, you can see it in the pic above his eye. I survived the first one and who knows how many will follow this summer. He also got his first sunburn. I know we are terrible parents. Tyler took the 3 littlest ones on a walk around the block. Van was outside a matter of 30 mins, but that was long enough. He now has a great start on a nice tan.
He still has his night were he won't sleep. He isn't really awake but he just isn't settled. He naps once a day usually for 3 hours. Some days we get lucky with 2 naps both a couple hours long. He is learning to sleep just about anywhere and with about any level of noise.
With a little hope of sunshine we went out side and Van got his first taste of playing in the sandbox. He loved it. He shoveled and played and tried to eat the rocks,... you know typical boy things.
He really loves RBK (he and Tyler are about the only ones). He cuddles and crawls all over her and she loves it.
He is starting to get really brave with standing. He walks along things with some success. I don't think it will be long before his is off and running. Being outside will help, he is not a big fan of grass!
My absolute favorite new thing that Van does is putting things on his head. Whether it is the twins' cowboy hat, a necklace or random pieces of clothing. Easter morning he crawled out of the twins' room wearing a Superman cape.
Van has no interest in baby food. He went through a few day phase where I thought that he was going to love it, so I purchased tons of the stuff, then nothing. He won't even look at me if I have some on the spoon. He does love just fOoD!! You name it he wants it (especially pudding). I pretty much just feed him off of my plate. Unless it is spicy or will choke him, he gets it. He downed an entire can of green beans the other night for dinner. An Entire Can!! He was officially weaned on the 21st. It was actually kinda sad. I'm not a big nursing fan but it worked with Van so that is what we did. But now that I am done, I miss that little bit of time that was just ours. He is a champ with a sippy cup and loves milk. In just a matter of days he just seemed to grow up.
He says Ma Ma all day and Tyler taught him to slap his head when he says "oh, man", he grows leaps and bounds each and every day and seriously, is he not the cutest thing EveR!!
