"A" For Effort
We borrowed Aunt Jessie's trailer, planned all the great things we were going to do, packed packed and packed some more, and finally we were off.
Tyler got off at a great time on Thursday, Grey's River was our destination, and we were only running a couple hours behind where we wanted to be, not bad.
We passed up a couple good spots to camp in hopes that the one we wanted wouldn't be taken, no such luck. Instead of being 10-12 miles up the river we ended up being 19.5, oh well, we had a great spot.
The trailer set up in a breeze, the kids choose cold cereal for dinner and soon it was bed time. Van kept everyone busy shutting doors, opening doors, and basically being a pain in the butt, he's one what do you do?
Tallon called dibs on the table bed and had himself a regular little bedroom set up.
The twins got the couch. They were so excited to sleep in a trailer. We offered to make a fire and do the whole campfire thing but sleep was all they could think of.
A bed time story from Dad was all it took. They were out and Tyler and I got to enjoy the campfire all to ourselves!
The next morning everyone was up bright and early ready for all the fun. Tallon's dreams came true when he asked his Dad if he could chop some wood and was given the go ahead. He couldn't have been happier.
Tallon, Van, and Orrin chillin by the fire.
Tallon and Vivin
Van and Orrin
We were ready for a ride when Tyler and I both realized that neither of us had bought the ORV sticker for the Ranger. Oh well, it was only a 20 mile ride to Alpine. Followed by a 20 mile ride up Little Grey's. Followed by another 20 mile ride back to the trailer. 60 miles in a Ranger for the pregnant lady was a bit more than fun so instead of more discovering, I napped and the kids played.
Soon Grandpa and Grandma found us and fishing at Murphy was our next adventure. Here is Van being oh so very helpful to Grandpa as he was trying to rig up 5 poles. Jace caught a fish within 5 mins of being there. Little stink. He is the luckiest little fart around. Van got brave enough to think about touching it.
Vivin and his Papa Chad.
Oh look someone dared touch Van. Man he has turned into such a mama's boy lately.
Vivin trying his best...
and it worked!!
What a great smile all because of his FIRST fish!
Orrin laid claim on Jaces fish, so here are Orrin and Vivin with their catches.
Tallon choose the wading effect. He just couldn't get his line to fall quite where he wanted it to. The great thing about Murphy is that it is always freezing!!
Orrin showing off "his" catch
The boys bought Tyler a new fly rod for Father's Day.
Insert pic here of Tyler's catch with said fly rod. The picture is on Jerrie's camera, sorry babe.
But aren't the boys soo cute out on the raft. Orrin, Vivin, Jace, and Tallon Tallon reeling in his catch. In his underwear no less.
We had a blast at the lake. The fish were biting like crazy and the kids had a ball. We got back to camp and had a great dinner followed by the camping dessert of Smores. Everyone was exhausted. We had everyone tucked in, or so we thought, until we walked out by the fire and found Orrin.
This morning we woke up to a baby with a very high fever. Van and I loaded up and were at the doctors office by 10:30, double ear infections. Tyler enjoyed a ride with the 3 boys and soon they were loaded up and headed home. Orrin threw up most of the way home. Classic way to top off the weekend.
We really had a great time. Not everything went as planned but the boys loved it and that's all that counts!

One of Those Saturdays
I got to go shoot a family reunion early this morning. The twins went with me and Ty took the oldest and the youngest: perfect. The family I got to spend my morning with just happens to be one of the families I love. They have been "my family" since I was born and are now some of our dearest friends. I love the pics that I grabbed of "my grandpa earl" and my boys: perfect.
