National Elk Refuge

The 2nd graders went for a field trip last week to Jackson. Tallon loved it! But sadly parents weren't invited because of space issues. After hearing his report of how cool it was we decided it was a must do this spring. Van had his 9 month appointment today, so we made it a family affair and made a fun day out of it.
We checked into the Visitor Center, bought our tickets, and looked around at all the awesome things. Seriously, my kids could make a day out of the Visitor Center. Check it out if you ever get a chance. We caught the bus and enjoyed a quick 5 min ride out to the refuge.

We only had 15 or so in our group so we had plenty of room to stretch out in the sleigh and just enjoy the ride. All the bulls hung out by the creek. Our driver was in no hurry so we snapped tons of pics. Enjoy

Their faces may not show it but the boys were in heaven. Watching the bulls "play" was tons of fun to watch.

We rode out a bit farther and pretty soon the Tetons popped out from behind the hill. We have seen them our whole lives and they are an amazing sight.

The black dots in the back ground are buffalo. They tend to be more tempermental so they kept them away from all the tourists.

A family picture to go with a fun memory

The ride lasted around 45 mins or more. It was a bit chilly but the sun was shining so we didn't mind the cold to bad. We all loved it! It was fun for the boys to see the elk so close and it was fun for Ty and I to see our boys excitement. Truly it was the PERFECT way to spend a day as a family.
