About six month ago some dear friends gave our family a gift certificate to the Red Lion hotel in Idaho Falls. We finally got a weekend to go and enjoy the warm weather and just do the things that the kids are always begging to do. We checked into the hotel around 6:00, walked across the street, and found ourselves on the green belt. The ducks and geese were out begging for food, the sun was just setting on the water with the Temple as a backdrop, and the kids were ready for some fun. We spent almost 2 hours chasing the water fowl and taking pictures. Tallon was determined to catch a duck but got skunked. He really gave it his best but just wasn't quite fast enough. The twins were content to just be pushed around in the strollers. They kept pointing to everything and saying "wow!" We even got to see a mother goose with about a dozen goslings which was way fun for the boys. The twins eventually started shivering, so we had to call it a night.
We went back to the hotel, ordered some pizza, and settled in to enjoy our evening. We were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the falls! It was just breathtaking. The boys loved being out on the balcony, but it wasn't long before we heard someone squealing and found Vivin stuck in the hide-a-bed. Only Vivin!!
Here is a shot of our fun room. Tallon was so confused about our room being shaped like a piece of pie. He couldn't quite understand why a round hotel had to have triangle rooms.

Of course another pic of Vivin hanging between the play pens. He wasn't ready for bed and the pens were easy to crawl in and out of. The boys eventually ended up in bed with Tyler and I and got to dose off to the TV.

This morning we had big plans for going to the zoo, but we first had to get sleeping beauty to wake up which was no small task!

The twins didn't make it easy either. We let them sleep until about 8:30 and then started pestering them to get up.

Tallon and Tyler were being so patient waiting for the 3 others kiddos to wake up.

She
really doesn't do mornings!!

These two got really bored and had to find ways to entertain themselves.

Oh look she lives!!
(for those of you who haven't met our daughter here she is!! we call her Alicia)

Who wouldn't want to wake up to this!! The views really were amazing!

Tallon didn't like the feeling of being so far up, but it didn't bother the twins one bit. Here they are taking one last look before we had to go.

Tallon is always begging to go to the zoo when we are in the Falls. We never really have time with all that we need to get done, but that wasn't the case today. We let the kids take as long as they wanted to see all the animals. It was so fun. They would run from one to the other and then back again. Their favorite part was the kids place. They got to go in and pet the goats and loved it!!

We had a great time and made it home just in time to catch the end of Special Olympics. My little sister Jackie did great this year coming home with two silver medals and one 4th place ribbon. Great job Jackie!!

To top off our day we went out to see Grandad and Grandma Hansen. Tallon took his .22 and got to do a little shooting with Grandad and Dad. The twins played on the track and it was a great way to finish off a wonderful 2 days. I love when life can slow down just enough to take a day and do everything for the kids!!

Sounds like so much fun!! I think if I would have gotten a gift certificate like that I would have been selfish and left the kids home :) Yeah for Jackie! They are starting a pilot program for young athletes,I am thinking of getting Bailey involved. I can't wait to go to her Special Olympic events.
