Wow!!

This pregnancy is totally kicking my butt! I have no energy, no ambition, no desire, no nothing. I hope that being out of the first trimester will bring me out of this fog. Not only has my blog suffered and been neglected, but so has my family. Poor Tyler is such a trooper and always so good to help. Tallon is the best helper and so willing to do anything for me and the twins. The twins are just as crazy and as full of energy as ever, which has made for some really interesting days.
Now for the info:
I am 13 weeks, due June 6th, baby will come in May due to having C-Sections, Tallon and Tyler are pretty sure it is a girl, I am just hoping it is not puppies! So far the doctors say there is only 1! Thank goodness, twins twice would kill me. Of course I am going to find out what "it" is, and we are scheduled to find out Jan 8. Yes, this came as a complete surprise. We were pretty sure that we were done with 3 energetic boys, proving once again that God does have a sense of humor, and I am not in charge.
Now on to better things. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were able to visit with all the family that we had time for, and ate ourselves sick. We went for a fun ranger ride the day after with some family.

The boy's big find for the day was the hundreds of ladybugs that were hibernating under the rocks. Always wondered where they went for the winter, now we know.

Vivin, Jace, and Tallon marking their trail. It was a wonderful, warm day and the boys had a ball. Orrin was passed out in the ranger and missed out on some of the fun.

Tallon and his Uncle Jace. How fun to have your uncle as one of your best friends!

Tallon has been begging to put up our tree, so Tyler broke down Friday night and with the help of many helpers were were able to go from this...

to this.

Saturday the 28th Tyler and I traveled to Logan and were able to witness the sealing of our nephew Carter to his parents. It was awesome. It seems just like yesterday that Carter was being born. Now he is 4, a big brother, and part of an eternal family. Life is so good.
Orrin started running a low grade fever Saturday morning. Tylenol was doing its job and so that night we enjoyed watching the parade of lights and gathering candy. He went to bed with a slight but bad sounding cough, and by 2:00 am it had turned into something a lot worse. So off to the ER Tyler went. A breathing treatment, 2 prescriptions, and 2 hours later they were home and all was well. Today was spent lazing about the house recovering from life and cuddling our ER bear.

It has been busy around here and with the holidays just around the corner, it doesn't look like it is going to ease up.

It's not my fault!

It really is Tyler's fault! I mean he is the one that insisted that we have our own pair of clippers. And he has made me use them before on his and Tallon's hair. And by using them it gave me confidence that I could cut hair. So you see it really isn't my fault that my little ones went from this...to this in 5 mins.

Thank goodness for a little gel. It looks much worse without it. But then it doesn't look all that great with it either.

I have already sent my apologies to Tyler via text messaging, but I think I had better start working on something really great for dinner. But then again, if I don't, maybe he'll just take away my clippers?!

And so IT begins!

Tyler and Tallon ventured out on the first duck hunt of the year and came home triumphant! The day was full of giggles and grins, and a small mishap with a primer. Needless to say we are buying good safety glasses before next weekends adventure. Thank goodness we didn't loose an eye!
Here is Tallon with his trophy

Vivin taking his turn. He was fascinated with the darn thing. He kept petting it and saying "Hi, Duck!!"

Orrin is always a bit more cautious when it comes to dead things. He did hold it for a bit but enjoyed looking at it more from a distance.

My 4 boys and the dog.

The mighty duck hunters. Love both of their smiles.

I currently have duck meat soaking in my sink and tomorrow it will be made into some good old jerky. The season is off to a great start!

SV Braves Basketball Camp 2009

It is baffling to Tyler and I that 1) we have a child old enough to do a basketball camp 2) that we have a child that would want to do a basketball camp and 3) that we have a child that did awesome at a basketball camp! It is so true that your children constantly amaze you. Here are some of the highlights. (Tallon is the little man in green shorts)

After 4 nights of playing, and a little hard work, Tallon came home full of grins. He won the "Bank Shot" award in his age group! Give credit where credit is due- Tallon wouldn't be the ball player that he is if it wasn't for this awesome cousin. Kellen is awesome and loves to help and support Tallon in anything that has to do with sports. Thanks Kellen!

Tyler and I will both have to admit that it was a lot of fun watching Tallon do something that we never expected him to be interested in! Great job bud!

The simple things...

have kept us busy this week.
We got to hang out with cousins...

and paint a pumpkin. Lets be honest, Mom carving pumpkins is just not pretty!

Tallon woke up to a note from Daddy telling him how much he loves him. Everyone one should have a daddy like ours!

We FINALLY got to meet this little beauty! She is honestly one of the prettiest baby girls EVER!!

After all this and some fun Halloween activities we were exhausted. I love Sunday after church naps.

It truly is the simple things in life that make it wonderful!

Halloween 09

What a great Halloween!!! We got in some Trick-or-Treating and had a party! The twins loved the whole knock on the door and get candy thing. We just went around our block, which was way more than Mom was up for, and then came home to pass out some candy of our own.

My sister Jessie put together a fabulous party for the family. The kids got to decorate their own picture, frost cupcakes and cookies, have a costume fashion show, play pin the nose on the pumpkin, do a cake walk, and they ended the evening with some trick-or-treating in the living room. She put a lot of work into making sure the kids had a great time and it was perfect!!! She even had dinner for everyone to enjoy as the kids played! Thanks Jess it was a lot of fun!

I hate hard choices!

Brilliant Conversations

Hello everyone, this is Tyler. Just thought I would give you all a quick look into my life. A short conversation between Jaymie and her friend Kirsten.

Kirsten: Do people still live in Egypt?
Jaymie: Duh! it's like a huge town!

Now do you understand what I go through every day?

Popcorn and Fudge

It's a Hansen thing, what can I say.
We love to pass on certain traditions and this is one of them. We had Miss Syd over for the weekend and treated her to popcorn and fudge along with a John Wayne movie. I wonder if she will ever come back!?

The twins love when we have company over and this is the treat!

Orrin's private stash

I thought it was an odd request the first time Tyler asked me to make this. But I love him so I did. Try it, you will love it!

Perfect fudge:
3 bags of chocolate chips
1/2 lb butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix in a large bowl.
In a large pan mix 4 1/2 cups sugar and 1 can canned milk. Bring to a rapid boil and boil for 6 mins. Dump over other ingredients. Mix well and pour into a buttered 9x13 pan. Freeze to set and Enjoy!

We've been all dressed up...

with no where to go for weeks!
Tonight we finally got to put on our costumes and spend some time on the town. The local 4-H clubs put on a Halloween carnival. It was so much fun, and this year it really wasn't all that crowded. It was a nice change from years past.
The boys favorite part was the doughnuts on a string. The object is to eat the doughnut without using your hands. Always good for a laugh.

One of the funnest parts of the night was fortune teller. Tallon was amazed and so scared all at the same time.

What a fun way to start off Halloween!

Can't seem to get ahead!

Just when I thought all the sickness was out of our house, I am proven wrong. Seriously, after hours of cleaning and gallons of Clorox, you would think that nothing would be ABLE to grow in our house. But a phone call from the school telling me that Tallon had just thrown up and that a family friend was on his way home and would bring Tal if I would give permission, proved me wrong. So back to the doctor we went and found out that sweet Tallon now has bronchitis. We get to do one of the annoying doses of medicine, you know the 1 tsp 3 times a day for 10 days, kind. YUCK! I can never remember it 3 times a day. So wish us luck with this next go round. Hey, I guess it could be worse, at least we don't have H1N1. Always look for the positive right?!

Finally...

we are feeling better!! What a week it has been. Full of sickness, sickness, and more sickness. Thank goodness for the long holiday weekend that helped us all recover. Saturday we were feeling lucky and decided to try our luck at leaving the house. But first a look at the new fence. Tyler worked for a couple of hours each day before he left for work. It went up easier than he excepted, which is always nice. Sorry no pics of the whole process. Sickness takes it toll everywhere, even with pictures. Tyler and the boys brought out the old BB guns and shot some boxes to pieces. Good bonding time isn't it. We weren't feeling to bad after a few hours outside, so we loaded up the ranger and four-wheeler and enjoyed some time up Grover Park. Orrin enjoying some pretend riding time. Tallon loves going to Grover Park to ride. There is a little flat at the North end and the kids have pounded out a nice little track that makes for hours of good entertainment. Vivin being his cute self Tyler a Vivin taking a few laps
So glad that we took the time to leave the house. We all came home wiped out and Sunday wasn't all that much fun, but it was worth it!

Well...

October has been quite the little month so far. Really not a lot has happened but we haven't stop either. We have had 2 weekends in a row with just the 5 of us which has been so very nice. We spent one weekend up the river and the past weekend we ended up spending Saturday in Idaho Falls.
Our week will be filled with one of "those" projects. You know, that one you know you have needed to do all spring, summer, and now that it is fall you have no choice. The story behind it being that we decided that our adorable little boys needed this...

yes that's right, RBK. What little boys life is complete without a dog? Really isn't it a requirement for childhood? So they have a dog. She had been wonderful for the boys. She goes everywhere with them, keeps them out of trouble, gets them into trouble, and drives me crazy. Perfect, right.
So Friday morning a gentleman, 2 blocks over, rings the doorbell. I answer and find RBK standing there with him (not a good sign). He proceeds to tell me that RB had made her way over to his home and killed his pet rooster. It was the last of 3 roosters that he and his wife had and it was buried in my backyard at that very moment. Evidently, not only had the dog killed the darn thing, but she carried it home with her and dug a hole in the kennel to hide it! What could I do but apologize 100 times. He softened a bit and told me that if we made sure she was never allowed the roam again that he wouldn't press charges. If we refused, he would call the cops and they would come and take RBK and put her down. Some choice.
Long story short, we have no choice but to put up a fence. We knew it needed to be done, and now it will be. Tyler is so excited to dig holes in the snow! As since it is so warm out (the high for today should be a whopping 45 degrees), I am sure that the cement will dry in no time.
And all this so our little ones can experience a precious piece of childhood.

Muddy Boys

In a hurry to go somewhere, came outside to find them like this, need I say more?!?!
